Scoil Pól Bus and Study Information

Please note that from tomorrow, Tuesday 10th September the following changes to buses servicing Effin from Scoil Pól. 

Students NOT doing after school study will be on the Noreen Hayes bus and will leave at the normal school closing times. Students who ARE doing after school study will be on Patsy Hayes bus leaving after one hour of study.

Both evening routes will be as follows:
Kilfinane, Kilmallock, Charleville,(Effin Cross), Davy's Bar, and around Effin (to be discussed with Noreen and Patsy. The morning routes stay exactly as they currently are. - Mike O'Hara

We extend a very warm welcome to all our students who started in Scoil Pól this week. This is the biggest group we have ever had starting in Scoil Pól's history and we are thrilled to have you all. We wish you the very best as you begin your second level journey with us all here in Scoil Pól and we look forward to helping you blossom into the amazing individuals you all are.

PhilosophyIrish Young Philosopher Awards

Last September a small group of students, together with Ms Dillon, set up the school’s first philosophy club. The aims of the club were to explore a range of philosophical questions proposed by the students, and to work on individual and group projects to enter in the Irish Young Philosopher Awards, taking place in UCD on May 15th.

Secondary schools Irish Open draughts champions. DraughtsBoard

Cillian O'Brien, Owen O Sullivan, Eoin McGrath and Sean Meade played great stuff and were deserving winners after playing 6 matches each and coming out as champions on March 15th in the South Court Hotel.

Monday: Senior Ladies football vs Hazelwood leaving at 9.30

Tuesday: Gymnastics performance for all 1st and 2nd yr
at 2.15pm. Task for LCA5
Junior Camogie vs Hospital at 11.30
U19 Munster Hurling v’s St Brogans
Mitchelstown course continues

Wednesday: 1st and 2nd yr camogie v’s Castletroy at 11.30 

Thursday: 5th yrs away to UL open day
– includes Mary I and LIT. Leaving at 9am
Practice for 1st yr mass
from 11.05 to 13.05
Staff meeting re 5th yr exams at 4pm
1st yr mass in St Andrews at 7pm

Friday: Junior Ladies football in Ballylanders v’s Mitchelstown at 11am
Transition year disco for 1st and 2nd yrs in school hall from 9 to 11pm
