Scoil Pól is delighted to announce that our Cúrsa Gaeilge returns to our school again this summer commencing on Monday 1st July at 9.30 am. 

The course runs from Monday 1st until Friday 12th July 2024. 

The course is extremely popular and highly acclaimed and has grown in strength and size since we began doing the course in 2014.

The course is aimed at pupils from 3rd, 4th, 5th and 6th in primary school classes along with 1st, 2nd, and 3rd year students from secondary schools. 

The aim of the course is to encourage the use of Irish in a relaxed, fun and entertaining way while encouraging students to use our native language in a natural way. There will be classroom teaching along with activities, such as Physical Education (including Hurling/Camogie, Gaelic Football, Soccer, Rounders, Basketball, Dodgeball, Tennis), Irish Dancing, Music, Cooking, Quizzes and Drama. All students who sign up to do the 2 week course will also get to go on a day trip to Ballyhass lakes. Due to families having plans made for Summer holidays, we do allow students to attend for one week. However, students can not be guaranteed the trip to Ballyhass lakes unless they sign up for the two week course.

All tutors are established and practising teachers from both primary and secondary levels with experience in taking part in summer camps. Among the teachers teaching at Cúrsa Gaeilge are Eoin Walsh, Aoife Stanton, Maedhbh O'Hara and Jack McCarthy. 

Students have travelled from within and outside the county to attend Cúrsa Gaeilge. Budding enthusiasts have come from Ardpatrick, Ballyorgan, Bruff, Bruree, Knocklong, Galbally, Glenbrohane, Kilmallock, Effin, Athlacca, Kilfinane, Hospital, Knockainey, Ballyhea and Charleville. We even have students from as far away as Australia attend our well acclaimed course.
