Ms Mcloughlins 6th years are studying bacteria and viruses. We used glitterbug UV powder to mimic a bacterial or viral infection on someone's hands. It glows under UV light as can be seen in the first pic. We carried on with class as normal and then shone the UV light around our classroom to see just how far our "infection" spread! We found it in pencil cases, bottles and on our masks! All high contact areas. we tested our hands after sanitiser which reduced the "bacteria" on our hands but it was no replacement for good old soap and water!!! Wash your hands for at least 20seconds and dont forget between the fingers and around the fingernails.
Building and launching rockets was the activity in Mr O’ Leary’s LCA 6 class as part of Science week!
Check out our photo gallery for all photos and winners of some sweet prizes! Well done everyone!
