Mental Health Week 2021

LTSP sml

Last week saw a lot of activity around Scoil Pól and we celebrated Mental Health Week. Congratualtions to the Wellness Committee and their teachers for organising such a fun and informative week!

Here was the itinerary for a great week!

On the first day students were offered a healthy and hearty breakfast! We had some mindfullness classes and Mr. O'Leary brought in his beautiful dogs for students to interact with and take for a walk. Your mood could only improve when around these gorgeous animals!

We had DJ Sully (Tommy O'Sullivan) and his wonderful helpers, Paddy and Billy, who lifted the roof off the GP area at lunch time! Big smiles and some dodgy dance moves on display - it was a fantastic treat for us! Thank you Tommy! We had a wonderful whole school quiz in aid of Pieta House . A special word of thanks to our Quiz Master Extraordinaire, Mr. O'Hara, who had us in stitches at the lyrics round. We never knew he had such a lovely French accent!
Many thanks to our whole school community for their support for this worthy cause!

Massive thanks also to past Scoil Pól student Ashley Carrol who came to talk to the TY students on behalf of Limerick Treaty Suicide Prevention. Students learned about the role of the volunteers at LTSP and the importance of knowing the basic skills in understanding mental health. LTSP patrol the banks and bridges of the River Shannon and work tirelessly to protect those who suffer with their mental health in silence.
