The TEMI Project temilogo

Scoil Pol science department are currently involved in a very exciting project. The TEMI project, ran by the University of Limerick is a Europe wide study, focusing on teaching science a more practical basis to both engage and excite the students. To date Ms O'Leary has completed the study in Limerick and will travel to the European Conference later in the year. The department are also part of a pilot study for a new transition year module being developed by UL. The module looks at the chemistry behind medicines and is very relevant to everyday life.

Along with this the science department had a visit from Laurie Ryan, a PHD student in UL. Laurie put on a magic show for senior science students and impressed students and teachers alike. Our transition year students with the help of our science teachers also put on a science show for our first year classes.
