Scoil Pól students at the Dáil
On Wednesday 22nd April, Transition Year students Peter Mc Mahon and Jack Fogarty travelled to Dáil Eireann as part of the Young Social Innovators ‘Speak Out Tour’.
The ‘Speak Out Tour’ is an opportunity for students to put topical questions to a panel of TD’s and Senators and to hear their intentions for the youth of Ireland in the years to come. The topics for discussion were:

• Poverty, Equality and Inclusion in Ireland and the world Dail Eireann
• Local Communities
• Technology/Digital
• Health and Well being
• Education and Employment

Building extension at Scoil Pól a reflection on school’s growing numbers

Scoil Pól Principal Mike O Hara is delighted to announce that the Department of Education have approved a large extension to Scoil Pól in the past few weeks. This extension will comprise of a new modern Wood Technology and Construction Studies room with a separate materials preparation area, two classrooms, a general purpose area and a suite of ancillary support rooms and toilets facilities.

5th year Home Economics class visit to Cloughjordan House Cookery School. cloughjordan house cookery school

On the 23rd of February 2015 the 5th year Home Economics class visited Cloughjordan House Cookery School as part of the Food Studies Practical – Coursework Journal assignments. Three assignments were completed, using the excellent facilities at the cooker school.

Scoil Pól take part in SEINN 2015 Seinn 2015

Congratulations to the Scoil Pól choir who sang so beautifully at the Seinn concert 2015 in th University Concert Hall in Limerick last Thursday the 19th of March. A special mention and congratulations to our 4 soloist, Brian O'Keeffe, Niamh Murphy, Peter McMahon and Aoife O'Sullivan who represented the school so wonderfully. We are are very proud of you well done to all.

Scoil Pól's TYs present 'Fit For Anything'

Back by popular demand!!


Scoil Pól TY present 'Fit For Anything' by Michael Dennehy, for one EXTRA night. This production will run on Thursday the 16th of April, in Glenroe Hall. Doors open at 7.30pm with curtain up at 8pm sharp. The play is set in a pub. Three wives are fed up with their husbands lazy carry on and decide to hire a fitness trainer to sort them out, while they take a holiday in Jamaica, with hilarious results. NOT TO BE MISSED!

Student Enterprise Awards 2015 student enterprise awards

Months of hard work with an innovative business idea paid off for a group of Transition Year students last week as they came home with the ‘Best Marketing Campaign’ Award from the Student Enterprise Awards in Limerick run by the Limerick Enterprise Board. 

The mini company named ‘Sugar and Spice’ produced cosmetic products in the form of a lip balm and facial scrub made from all natural ingredients.
