TYs visit Cloughjordan Cookery School

Our TY's took off to Cloughjordan Cookery school on the 9th February with both Ms.O'Donnell and Mrs.Lowe. Where they learnt how to grow a vegetable garden, pick vegetables, cook in the kitchen and serve food. Each student got to cook from scratch using the home grown vegetables from the garden. They made Potato and Leak Soup with bread rolls and home made butter, then in the afternoon they made Chicken Curry with rice and they made Naan bread to go with it and they finished off by making Chocolate Brownies. It was a fantastic day and the staff/chefs at Cloughjordan were brilliant.

The run was timed and all the students got to refuel at the end of their run by having some water, oranges and banana's that were kindly sponsored by Centre of Kilfinane. Scoil Pol Finish Strong To Claim Munster Honours MunsterChampsCup

Congratulations to our Junior Camogie team who won the Sr. Patricia cup in the Junior Munster competition played in Kilfinane today.
Played in a clear but chilly January day, the Scoil Pól girls showed tremendous grit and determination to overturn a half time deficit of 2 points to eventually win out on a score line of 2-8 to 1-4 against a gallant Presentation College from Mitchelstown.
Having had the experience of being on the other side of results the previous Saturday in the Senior final played in Kilmoyle, Co. Kerry, the Scoil Pól ladies were focused and determined to make amends today. All but two of the senior panel with underage today which augers very well for the future in Scoil Pól.
Great credit is due to coaches Noreen O Riordan, Sr. Patricia Coughlan and Sarah Collins who gave belief to the girls that their day would come – and today it has!!!
Congratulations to everyone from the Scoil Pól community on your fantastic result!!!
