Transition Year (TY)

Transition Year is a one-year programme taken after the Junior Cycle and before beginning the Senior Cycle. TY gives students the opportunity to explore new subjects, develop life skills, and prepare for senior cycle learning in a less exam-focused environment.

The Programme Combines:

Purpose and Focus:

  • Personal Growth: Encourages maturity, responsibility, and self-confidence.
  • Being a Learner: Offers diverse subjects and project-based learning without exam pressure.
  • Civic and Community Engagement: Promotes active citizenship, teamwork, and community involvement.
  • Career Exploration: Includes work experience and career guidance to help students explore future pathways.

TY School Musical, YSI, Mini Company, Coding, Green Schools and Sustainability, Junk Kouture, Future Leaders, Chess, Swimming, Hiking, Cookery.
